Johan Van Hengel
Based in Rotterdam, Dutch designer Johan Van Hengel draws upon his technical training in industrial design to create innovative storage systems for homes and offices.
Working from his studio, which he founded in 2013, Van Hengel brings a logical and investigative approach to everything he designs. “I’m driven by a desire to enrich everyday objects with new layers of sophistication and meaning,” he says. “With a focus on function, materiality, and technique, I try to invest everyday shapes and objects with a subtle element of surprise.”
